Strategic Plan

Success in the Early Years: Every student will engage in meaningful learning opportunities that foster curiosity and joy of learning, while developing the academic and social skills to meet/exceed standards by the end of Grade 3.

Goal for this year: Outcome C — Increased percentage of children meeting or exceeding grade level standards by the end of Grade 3.

Target: 70% meeting/exceeding standards by 3rd grade.

Current Performance: 33.5% Math, 50.3% ELA as of 2022 Smarter Balanced testing.

Responsible, Resilient, Empowered Learners: Every student will feel safe as an empowered, responsible, and resilient learner, open to and accepting cultural diversity and perspectives, and empowered to advocate for and pursue their own educational passions.

Goal for this year: Outcome B — Increased percentage of regular school attenders.

Target: 75% regular attenders (<1 absence /month).

Current Performance: 25%

Critical Thinkers & Solution Seekers: Every student will demonstrate skills in creative and evaluative reasoning, communication, and collaboration to address challenges in a socially just and democratic society.

Goal for this year: Outcome A - Increased percentage of students participating in at least one positive school- or community-based activity.

Target: More students participating in at least 1 positive school- or community-based activity.

Current Performance: 25.2% of students did not participate in an after-school activity. *2022 spring student survey

Continuous Growth - All Students, All Subjects: Every student will demonstrate continuous growth towards meeting/exceeding rigorous learning standards.

Goal this year: Outcome A - Increased percentage of students demonstrating proficiency on standards.

Target: 70% of 5th graders demonstrating proficiency on math standards. (This is an example of one grade in one subject area.)

Current Performance: 34.1% as of 2022 Smarter Balanced testing.

Preparedness for Post-Secondary Success: Every student will successfully navigate the critical transitions in their personalized learning trajectory, and will graduate from high school prepared for success in college, career, and post-secondary success.

Goal this year: Outcome A - Increased high school graduation rates for all student-groups.

Target: 90-95% of low-income students graduating in 5 years.

Current Performance: 86.7% *Five year rate for the Class of 2021.
